It takes a village...

Posted on December 02, 2018 by BlueRoomPottery | 1 comment

Fresh out of the kiln lanterns, a slim tall house and a church.

They will add a touch of magic to any corner of your home, imagine a mini village displayed on a mantel or a couple of dreamy chalet houses erected on a living room table.

I love the little touch of cutting out the windows for the light to shine through, an invitation for kids to imagine who might be the tiny inhabitants of these small fantasy dwellings.

You can use battery-powered tea lights, or real candle tea lights if you set the houses on a fire safe spot. Either way, they make for a stunning, classy nighttime feature.

Just in time for the Holidays we are making some work with our beautiful Ruby Red glaze, an old favorite to many!!

You asked for it, so here are some examples of the regular twisted leaf yarn bowl, the good luck and abundance pomegranate, and the large 8" yarn bowl for serious knitters :)

Marsala -- Pantone color of the Year 2015

Posted on January 05, 2015 by BlueRoomPottery | 0 comments

I was pleasantly surprised to see my "Autumn Gold" yarn bowl featured in the "Pantone's Color of the Year: Marsala" newsletter that went out today, and also in the "New Year's Gifts" Etsy Browse featured items. This made me want to share it with you :)

It is a warm rich earthy dark red-brown color and I would call it "Keramidi" or "Terracotta Roof Tile Red" as it's called in Greece.

It is a favorite winter color of mine, because it reminds me of a sweater that my beloved late mom made for me in this color, when I was in high school.

So let me share here with you the featured piece,

and a Valentine Hearts' themed one for yourself or the special knitter in your life ♥

Enjoy!
