Mary's Turquoise Cat, Ceramic Sculpture Flower Vase

The turquoise cat's body was made on the wheel from white stoneware clay and then the head and all the little details, including the tail and the single flower vase were hand sculpted and added to the body when the form was still wet.

This sitting turquoise cat vase was then fired up to 2,100 degrees. It is glazed is a glossy glaze making it perfectly watertight for a small posy of your favorite Spring flowers. Nice gift for a cat loving friend.

She sits very straight and stable on her belly and feet and she's ready to hold a couple single fresh flowers in her tubular vase.

4" high by 3 1/4" wide and signed on the bottom.

This piece is a collaboration between Marietta and Mary Vandorou, Marietta's good friend and potter from Greece.
